Mission Statement

The mission of Rainbow Schools is to provide the highest quality preschool experience to the children of Hawaii without regard for income, religion, ethnicity, or lifestyle choice.

Philosophy and Goals

Rainbow Schools is dedicated to the idea that learning is a natural, joyful process. Positive learning experiences and opportunities enable a child to build a strong feeling of self-worth and competency, enabling them to cope more effectively with the world around them. 

Rainbow School’s role is to focus on nurturing and developing the whole child. We acknowledge the learning that has already taken place in a child’s life with their first teachers being the child’s parents. Therefore, Rainbow School in partnership with the child’s parents will help the child develop and grow even further. We create many learning opportunities to promote and develop other competencies, such as basic skill development, a deeper awareness of the world (and each child’s place in it), creative expression, and the ability to make effective choices. Rainbow School individualizes instruction and curriculum based on each child’s interest and ability, with the goal of helping children develop to their full potential. We use positive experiences and opportunities to encourage positive choices and decisions for all children. We promote an atmosphere of support and recognition of each child’s unique strengths and abilities and understand the importance of providing developmentally appropriate learning opportunities to support all areas of growth.




Rainbow School began in Kahuku as a one classroom non-profit educational and childcare service in 1972. The center and main office is currently located at 56-463 Kamehameha Highway in Kahuku. Rainbow School Kahuku enjoys the distinction of being the first nationally accredited school in Hawaii. Since 1972, Rainbow Schools has expanded to include five additional centers:

• Rainbow School Wahiawa opened in 1989

• Rainbow School Kaneohe opened in 1991

• Rainbow School Mililani opened in 1995

• Rainbow School Honolulu was opened in 1996

Our services are intended to meet the needs of young children between three months and five years of age. Our organization seeks national accreditations for all of its centers. In 1986, Rainbow School Kahuku became the first center in the State of Hawaii to be accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Our schools seek national accreditation through either the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) or the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA).

Rainbow School accepts children of any race, religion, national or ethnic origin. Children with special needs are considered on an individual basis. We serve children whose needs can reasonably be accommodated by our facilities and program. All of the Rainbow School locations are licensed by the State of Hawaii, Department of Human Services.

We enroll children whenever openings are available. If no openings are available, the child’s name will be placed on a waiting list.

Destination Dance Hawaii, LLC

St. Anthony School was established in 1952.  The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet served as the first teachers and the school has been providing a solid educational foundation ever since. As the oldest private school in Kailua, St. Anthony’s has nurtured thousands of students in Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

The parish school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and certified by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA). St. Anthony students excel in both academic and personal development and graduates are well-received at all major Oahu private secondary schools, including Catholic and non-Catholic high schools.

Teachers, administration, support staff, parish and parents all contribute to the school’s success, collectively forming an educational foundation that supports students’ spiritual, moral, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth.
